Origin of the Loulla&Philla project

In October 2007, an orphan designation was obtained from EMEA by Only for Children Pharmaceuticals (O4CP) for oral liquid Metothrexate and 6-Mercaptopurine.

Only for Children Pharmaceuticals has then identified and contacted several complementary organizations (SMEs, Hospitals and universties) so as to propose them to take part in a Resarch and Technological Development project aiming to give access to two new oral liquid formulations of 6-mercaptopurine and Methotrexate for children ongoing the maintenance treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukæmia.

The consortium together submitted the proposal entitled “Loulla&Philla” to the European Commission as part of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Community for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration Activities under the funding scheme of “Collaborative Project”.
