Consolidation
Intensification or consolidation therapy involves the continuation of intensive chemotherapy regimens used in the induction phase after the achievement of complete remission.
Drugs used in intensification regimens include high-dose cytarabine, etoposide, teniposide, high-dose methotrexate, mercaptopurine, tioguanine, and the antineoplastics used in induction regimens.
This phase diminishes the chances for the patients to relapse.
